Illinois AG Filed Lawsuit against PFAS Manufacturers

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul filed a lawsuit against over a dozen companies that manufacture per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are also known as “forever chemicals” for their resistance to breaking down in the human body and the environment. The complaint alleged that the companies continued to “actively promote the chemicals as safe to manufacture and use,” despite knowing about the harms of PFAS for decades. The lawsuit sought costs and damages, including costs for natural resource restoration and continued PFAS remediation,
