Fourteen AGs Pushed for Stronger Energy Efficiency Standards for Consumer Water Heaters

New York Attorney General Letitia James led a coalition of 14 attorneys general—along with the City of New York—in submitting comments regarding the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proposed energy efficiency standards for consumer water heaters. In their comments, the AGs argued that DOE’s strengthened standards would save consumers billions of dollars and “significantly reduce emissions that contribute to climate change.” The coalition urged DOE to finalize the proposed standards swiftly.
