Fifteen AGs Filed Lawsuit against EPA for Failure to Issue NAAQS Attainment Designations

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman led a coalition of fifteen attorneys general in filing a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for failing to fulfill its “mandatory duty under the Clean Air Act to designate all areas of the country as in or out of compliance with health and welfare standards, referred to as the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (“NAAQS”), for ozone.”
