Eleven AGs Send Letter to Congress Objecting to Proposed IRA Funding Cuts
SEPTEMBER 25, 2023
Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell led a coalition of 11 attorneys general in sending a letter to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees opposing proposed bills that would cut Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding. In the letter, the AGs explained the critical need for programs and funding established by the IRA, including those that support rural small businesses, the agriculture industry, and low- to moderate-income families. Additionally, the AGs point out that funding is needed to implement these programs and disburse these funds, in order to ensure “an efficient, effective, and equitable roll-out of the IRA.” The AGs urged Congress not to advance the proposed bills.
