Eighteen AGs Sent Comments on EPA’s Proposed GHG Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles
JUNE 16, 2023
California Attorney General Rob Bonta led a coalition of 18 AGs—along with the cities of Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York—in sending comments to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed standards for greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. The AGs urged EPA to strengthen the standards even further, where technologically feasible. The AGs also placed emphasis on the positive impact strengthened standards would have on environmental justice communities, given that these communities already bear disproportionate effects of poor air quality and other environmental burdens.
