District of Columbia AG Filed Lawsuit against Construction Materials Recycler over Water Quality Violations
JANUARY 14, 2021
In January 2021, then-District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine filed a lawsuit against Rodgers Brothers, a construction materials processing and recycling facility, over violations of the District’s Water Pollution Control Act. The complaint alleged that the operators ignored citations issued by the District’s environmental agency, and “repeatedly have allowed waste, dirt, and debris from their facility to discharge and leech into common space and waters, leading to persistent water quality violations.”
In April 2024, AG Brian Schwalb announced that the company and its president were ordered to pay $100,000 in penalties.
