California AG Issued Legal Alert to Water Providers and Consumer Alert to Customers on When Water Shut-Offs Are Legal

California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a legal alert to remind water providers that the Water Shutoff Protection Act prevents providers from shutting off customers’ access to water except under specific conditions, as laid out in the Act. AG Bonta also issued a consumer alert advising customers how to proceed if they are late on paying utility bills.
