California AG Issued Enforcement Advisory Warning Companies about PFAS Disclosure Responsibilty

California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued an enforcement advisory letter and a consumer alert about the dangers of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in consumer products. PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, are toxic substances that resist breakdown in the human body and in the environment. AG Bonta’s enforcement advisory alerted companies about a new state statute that prohibits the use of packaging that contains PFAS and requires companies to disclose the presence of PFAS in cookware. AG Bonta also released a consumer alert that explains what PFAS are, why they are dangerous, and what the state is doing to protect consumers.
