California AG Filed Felony Charges against Fuel Distributor for Hazardous Waste Scheme

California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed felony charges against Lamb Fuels, Inc. and its management for illegally treating and transporting hazardous waste in the state. The company allegedly collected waste fuel from scrapyards and selling it to gas stations from 2012 to 2021, primarily in overburdened and under resourced communities. Consumers unknowingly purchased and used the contaminated fuel in their vehicles. The Department of Toxic Substances Control conducted the investigation leading to the charges. The complaint included multiple felony counts, such as conspiracy to transport hazardous waste without permits and treatment of hazardous waste at unauthorized facilities.
