California AG Filed Charges against Group for Recycling Fraud Scheme

California Attorney General Rob Bonta, along with California’s Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, announced charges against eight people over a recycling fraud scheme. The individuals transported [] tons of recyclable items from Arizona to redeem through California’s beverage container recycling program. Over eight months, the group illegally redeemed a total $7.6 million. The criminal complaint included charges of recycling fraud, grand theft, and conspiracy.
