California AG Announced Criminal Charges against Energy Company for Coastal Pipeline Spill

California Attorney General Rob Bonta, along with the Orange County District Attorney, announced misdemeanor charges against an energy company operating a pipeline off of Huntington Beach after the company failed to adequately respond to damage to the pipeline, resulting in a 25,000-gallons petroleum spill. The company entered a plea agreement, and will pay nearly $5 million to the state and county, as well a $7 million federal fine.
