Alaska AG Filed Lawsuit against PFAS Manufacturers
APRIL 6, 2021
Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor filed a lawsuit in state court against 3M, DuPont, Chemours, Arkema and numerous other chemical manufacturers and affiliated companies over contamination of the state’s natural resources with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The complaint alleged that the companies developed, manufactured, marketed and sold PFAS-containing products “with the knowledge that these compounds were toxic and that they would be released into the environment even when used as directed and intended.” The lawsuit sought compensation for expenses incurred by the state for the assessment and remediation of PFAS contamination.
