Wisconsin AG Reached Settlement over Wastewater Violations at CAFO

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced a settlement with an agricultural company and its owners and operators for violating state wastewater regulations at the company’s concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO). The company illegally operated the CAFO without a permit for several years, and then after getting the permit, proceeded to violate it by discharging manure and wastewater into surrounding waterways. Under the settlement, the defendants must pay $320,000 in combined penalties, costs, and fees, and can no longer use an area of their facility that caused the illegal wastewater discharges.
