New Jersey AG Announced Seven New Environmental Enforcement Actions

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, announced seven new environmental enforcement actions. Six of the lawsuits centered on chemical pollutants that affected six low-income and minority communities. The seventh lawsuit centered on a blueberry farm and blueberry processing operation that allegedly failed to comply with DEP orders to stop using unsafe drinking wells on the property and using unpermitted septic systems.
