Massachusetts AG Secured Settlement with Facility for Water Pollution

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey announced that her office secured a settlement with a scrap metal processing facility over the release of pollutants into a tributary of the Chicopee River. The company was required to pay $165,000 for knowingly discharging stormwater full of heavy metals and pollutants. The funds were designated to be used to finance projects that protect the Chicopee River and address health and environmental issues communities face in the area.
