Wisconsin AG Obtained Civil Judgement against Mercury-Emitting Facility

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced a civil judgment against a company responsible for emitting uncontrolled emissions of mercury from its facility. Mercury, which is classified as a persistent bio-accumulative toxic substance, poses health threats when it exceeds certain levels. The judgment obtained by AG Kaul requires the company to pay a penalty of $95,000 for violating the state’s air management and hazardous waste laws.
