Vermont AG Filed Lawsuit Over Unauthorized Tree Removal in State Park

Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan filed a lawsuit against an individual who removed trees and brush from publicly owned state park land without authorization. The complaint notes that the individual owns property bordering Hazen’s Notch State Park, and confessed to cutting trees within the park without requesting or receiving approval from the state. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and seeks damages and an injunction “barring all further trespass onto and damage to Hazen’s Notch State Park” by the individual.
