Three AGs Filed Lawsuit against EPA to Protect Workers from Pesticide Poisoning
MAY 30, 2018
New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh filed a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) challenging the agency’s decision to suspend critical safeguards protecting agricultural workers from pesticides. The EPA suspended training requirements under the Agricultural Work Protection Standard without following the necessary public notice and comment procedures. In their lawsuit, the attorneys general asserted that the EPA’s suspension is arbitrary and capricious and in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act.
