Seventeen AGs Filed Comments on EPA’s Interim Final Rule to Rescind Benefit-Cost Rule

New York Attorney General Letitia James led a coalition of 17 attorneys general and the California Air Resources Board in filing comments in support of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) rescission of the Increasing Consistency and Transparency in Considering Benefits and Costs in the Clean Air Act Rulemaking Process (Benefit-Cost Rule) through an interim final rule. In the letter, the AGs stated that the rule favored less stringent air quality standards that violate the EPA’s core mission to protect human health and the environment and fail to increase the agency’s goal of consistency and transparency.
