Nine AGs Challenged Department of Energy For Blocking Energy Efficiency Standards

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman led a coalition of nine attorneys general in filing a petition for review “challenging the [Energy] Department’s delay in issuing its Energy Conservation Standard for Ceiling Fans. The Department of Energy has estimated that over a thirty-year period this standard would save enough electricity to power between 10 and 35 million U.S. households for a year. The Standard for Ceiling Fans should have gone into effect on March 20, 2017, but has now been delayed twice.”
