New York AG Settled with Utility Company and Secured Funding for Heating Modernization Program

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced an agreement with National Grid, a utility company that provides natural gas and electricity to homes and businesses in New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, to pay $6 million for improper management of its electrical distribution system on Long Island. National Grid falsely reported lower customer electrical usage for over four years, leading the state-owned Long Island Power Authority to lose revenues. The funds will go towards heat pump modernization and replacement for low and moderate-income Long Islanders.
