New Jersey AG Announced Seven Environmental Justice Lawsuits

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced seven environmental enforcement lawsuits. The actions targeted environmental threats across the state, six of which specifically aim to address pollution and health concerns in low-income and minority communities. The state sought a number of court-directed remedies including clean-up of the contaminated properties, payment to the state of civil penalties, compliance with agreements previously struck with DEP, and reimbursement to the state for the cost of site investigation, remediation, monitoring and other related work.
