Eight AGs Filed Lawsuit Challenging DOT’s Unlawful Delay of Greenhouse Gas Performance Measure

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra led a coalition of eight attorneys general in filing a lawsuit against the Transportation Department’s (DOT) Federal Highway Administration challenging the “illegal delay of a regulation that would lead to significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles on federal highways across the country. The delayed regulation, known as the Greenhouse Gas Performance Measure, requires all states to measure and track greenhouse gas emissions and set locally-appropriate targets.”
