Eight AGs Called on FERC to Consider Climate Impacts of Pipelines
JANUARY 7, 2022
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey led a coalition of eight attorneys general in comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) urging the agency to assess the climate impacts of pipelines and to consider state climate and clean energy policies in determining if a project’s emissions are significant. The coalition also argued that FERC should take into account the impacts of both emissions and possible mitigation measures for environmental justice communities.
