Colin Parts

Former Staff Attorney

Colin Parts is an attorney with experience in environmental justice, climate change law, and energy law and policy. He worked as a staff attorney at The State Energy & Environmental Impact Center from 2021-2022. Prior to joining the Center, he was a legal fellow for the Sierra Club’s Environmental Law Program, focusing on a just transition to clean energy, environmental justice, and building electrification. During law school, he interned at the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Environment and Land Law Sections of the California Attorney General’s Office, and the Environmental Defense Fund. He also served as a clinical student representing residents of East Chicago, Indiana during the course of RCRA and CERCLA cleanups in their neighborhood. Parts graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a BA in environmental studies and public policy, and earned a JD with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law.
