Former Staff Attorney

Col­in Parts is an attor­ney with expe­ri­ence in envi­ron­men­tal jus­tice, cli­mate change law, and ener­gy law and pol­i­cy. He worked as a staff attor­ney at The State Ener­gy & Envi­ron­men­tal Impact Cen­ter from 2021 – 2022. Pri­or to join­ing the Cen­ter, he was a legal fel­low for the Sier­ra Club’s Envi­ron­men­tal Law Pro­gram, focus­ing on a just tran­si­tion to clean ener­gy, envi­ron­men­tal jus­tice, and build­ing elec­tri­fi­ca­tion. Dur­ing law school, he interned at the Nat­ur­al Resources Defense Coun­cil, the Envi­ron­ment and Land Law Sec­tions of the Cal­i­for­nia Attor­ney General’s Office, and the Envi­ron­men­tal Defense Fund. He also served as a clin­i­cal stu­dent rep­re­sent­ing res­i­dents of East Chica­go, Indi­ana dur­ing the course of RCRA and CER­CLA cleanups in their neigh­bor­hood. Parts grad­u­at­ed with hon­ors from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chica­go with a BA in envi­ron­men­tal stud­ies and pub­lic pol­i­cy, and earned a JD with hon­ors from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Chica­go Law School, where he was Exec­u­tive Edi­tor of the Chica­go Jour­nal of Inter­na­tion­al Law.
